This section explores the symbolic meanings of the huppah, or wedding canopy, which range from a representation of the home the hatan (groom) and kallah (bride) will build together, to the transition of the bride from her father's home to her husband's, to a gateway of the bride's consent to marry, to a conjuring of a symbolic Gan Eden.
