Every caring community must face the challenge of defining its norms; simultaneously it must respect and protect the rights of those who may be affected by the definitions or left out of those definitions. Perhaps the Orthodox community has a larger struggle because the norms are more limited and more defined. The material that follows deals with protecting society's most vulnerable populations as well as the challenge of handling the setting of limits in our community in a sensitive, supportive way.
